FortuneCity is not responsible for the content of any Personal Home Page, and the opinions and views expressed in the Home Pages do not necessarily reflect those of FortuneCity. The contents of the Personal Home Pages are not reviewed in any way before they appear in FortuneCity.

FortuneCity is only capable of giving away 10Mb of free web space thanks to the sponsorship of our advertisers. Each page that you create will have an advertising banner automatically inserted into it.

Before you create a page here on FortuneCity, please read and understand these rules.

  • You cannot remove any of the banners that FortuneCity has inserted onto your pages. Remember, the advertising banners pay for the web space you are using. You are permitted to place the advertising banner code at the bottom of each of your pages instead of leaving them at the top of each page.
     
  • Do not use your web space for providing material that is grossly offensive to the Web community including blatant expressions of bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity . Promoting or providing instructional information about illegal activities, or promoting physical harm or injury against any group or individual.
     
  • Pages can not contain, or contain links to, any of the following: copyrighted material, nudity (nudity in art, sculptures is acceptable as long as it is not explicit), sex, pornography, tasteless images, foul language, hate propaganda, MP3 files, anything illegal, illegal software, serial numbers, mail fraud, pyramid schemes or be insulting to another person(s) or Company. This includes anything considered Adult material.
     
  • You can not copy any other page and/or images without prior consent from the originator of the other page and/or images.
     
  • FortuneCity reserves the right to delete any page it deems unacceptable for any reason without prior notice. Only FortuneCity Staff can delete pages. Ministers, Neighbourhood Watch Deputies, and citizens can only report questionable sites.
     
  • No commercial pages promoting or describing any kind of business.
     
  • FortuneCity makes no guarantee as to the availability of service.
     
  • No advertising banners of any kind apart from CDnow Cosmic Credit, Link Exchange or Web Ring. Safe Audit is also accepted by FortuneCity.
     
  • You must not use your web space for "data warehousing" -- using the space as storage for large files which are only linked from other sites. You must provide a reasonable amount of content to accompany such material in order that at least some of the traffic to your site comes directly via us. There is a robot at FC which can locate warehoused files.
     
  • We do not allow the posting of MP3 format files on our server. This is due to constant abuse and posting of copyright material which resulted in a number of threats of legal action by the copyright owners. Anyone posting MP3 files to our server will be removed and banned from using our service. Currently links to MP3 files on other servers are allowed, but this could be changed at any time. There is a robot at FC which can locate these files.
     
  • A valid email must remain on your page(s) or it will be removed.
     
  • Pages are subject to removal, if there is no activity (hits or edits) on the page for 60 days. There is a robot at FC which can locate these files (the weedbot), though it is currently not being run often. Just ignore abandoned sites; they will disappear eventually.

Any pages that do not comply with the above guidelines will be removed. Remember, only FortuneCity Staff can delete pages. Ministers and Neighbourhood Watch Deputies can only report questionable sites.

You as the author of your pages take full responsibility for its contents. As the author you state your page contains nothing illegal, pornographic, degrading or abusive to another person, including pages that promote hate group propaganda. As the author, you also state that nothing on your page is copyrighted material and that any links to other servers have been approved by that organization. You agree that FortuneCity has the right to remove any page it determines, in its sole judgement, has violated these conditions. By submitting your pages, you are agreeing to all these conditions. In other words, you agree to these guidelines if you build a site at FortuneCity.
